Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity (Habitat) was founded in 1986 and has been providing financial and life skills to low income families for over 30 years. There are 100 Habitat homes in Salt Lake County to date and they are working on building 20 low cost, high energy efficient homes in Kearns.
In November 2021 the Living Home crew did volunteer build work on a home near 400 S. 1000 West in Poplar Grove. This home basically had the framing done with some walls, so we broke up into two teams to help build a soffit, installed stair stringers, and installed exterior panels. This particular build was put off for two years due to the pandemic — pausing volunteer projects and bringing supply chain disruptions — so it was gratifying to be able to come together and finally work on it.
Our volunteer efforts help to provide safe and affordable housing while helping end poverty housing conditions. This is what we do as a company, so why not share our knowledge and help? The Living Home team really enjoys being able to help the community and it's a great team building experience. Living Home would like to say thank you to Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity for their fantastic efforts and for the opportunity to help in our community!
